Some of the most legendary cocktails were made by accident, but such was not the case for the iconic piña colada. Back in 1954, Ramón “Monchito” Marrero created a new cocktail to welcome guests to Caribe Hilton. Originally hand-shaken and non-alcoholic, eventually, Marrero made the decision to add local rum, well, and the rest is history.
